ALIXAS SENTRY; Reaper's Fold Guild Member
The earth had felt wonderful beneath her paws, she hadn’t been in her Morpher form for so long and now her time was over and she was running through the lands surrounding Freesia Town. As she leapt over a fallen tree her Morph vanished and she was almost completely nude when her feet touched the ground on the other side of the tree. Luckily, not too far away, she had stashed some clothes before-hand. Jogging toward the stash site, she pulled out the torn black jeans and then the almost see through, pale teal t-shirt. She pulled the jeans on and then donned the t-shirt and then pulled out the shoes and then decided to abandon the shoes and go barefoot.
She had always been more comfortable that way anyways. Her storm grey eyes flared to life as she looked up at the moon. Walking along the ground she realized she had wandered into Freesia Town. The old church told her that. Smiling she made her way slowly toward the church, the payment she’d received for chasing off the pack from the farmer’s lands tucked securely against her breast. Granted, it wasn’t technically a Guild mission but she was still somewhat of an Independent Mage as her Guildmaster hadn’t been around for a while. She walked slowly up the front walk of the church and reached out to touch the door.
She let her fingers trail down the edge and then she gently pushed the door open and stepped into the softly candle lit church. Hello child, you are too late to make even the latest service. Alixas looked at the nun that had spoken and smiled toward her, “I wasn’t actually looking for a church service sister, just a soothing, quiet place to think.” The nun smiled gently, As long as you are out before the first service this morning you may stay. “Thank you sister, I really appreciate it.” The nun then turned and moved back to the rest of the dormitories of the church and Alixas moved to find a comfortable seat in one of the cherrywood pews.
Once settled in she dusted off her feet and sat cross-legged in the pew and tipped her head back and closed her eyes. Her mind wandered back to the point in her past where she was forced away from Seleucus, then farther back to the point where she realized she wanted to be his forever. She smiled as she ran back through the events, she’d just left her Morph, almost nude and she was exhausted, she didn’t even care when she stumbled and fell against Seleucus. They’d talked then and she had learned so much about Seleucus and she knew that he was still single. He was only a year or two older than she was.
They began spending time together, and then the fateful night of her force-out came. She and Seleucus were sitting up, talking, he was showing her spells and telling her tales. They were laughing, having fun, enjoying each other’s company when the bandits struck, Seleucus freaked and Morphed, leaving Alixas sitting on the hill, she tried to go back and help, even Morphing herself, but he snapped at her…hard and then chased her out of the forest his hackles raised. Alixas, stuck in her Morph obeyed the larger wolf, but as they reached the edge of the trees, his dark eyes were saddened at what he had to do to save her life.
Her own eyes reflected back the same sadness, as she looked back at the large wolf, he Morphed back and spoke quickly to her, his hands on both sides of her face, his touch made her own human face appear again, I’m only doing what I have to do to keep you safe. Alixas I love you too much to lose you to them. Her storm grey human eyes filled with tears as she felt his soft lips on her own and she kissed him back not wanting to lose her chance to keep his taste. Around her tears she spoke back to him, “I love you too Seleucus, I don’t want to leave you to them alone.” He smiled softly at her and then removed his hands from her face, the wolf taking her back over. Go Alix, go my love I will find you again. Then he Morphed back and raised his head to the air and howled a heart wrenching cry. Alixas joined her own sorrow-filled voice with his as they both howled for their loss.
Then Seleucus turned back and charged the bandits, Alixas howled again, her sorrow very strong in the tones as she spun and shot the opposite direction, away from Sele for who knew how long. Feeling a warm tear tracking down her face, Alixas opened her eyes and blinked a few times, to dispel all the tears. Her heart howled sadly for her lost Seleucus, but she held hope that someday, someday soon, he would return. She sat and stared into space her storm grey eyes bright with unshed tears, she never even heard the door of the church open again to admit another lone wanderer.
